Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” (John 6:26-27)
The New Year period is typically a time of reflection and planning. Many of us pause to evaluate our lives and goals. Some of us had a hard year and others had a triumphant 2017. Some of us are excited by what 2018 will hold whilst some will look forward with trepidation. Regardless of what these reflections hold, let us be sure to cement our lives in Christ. He is our Daily Bread. He is the sustenance our bodies and spirits need.
In pursuing any of our physical, temporal goals this year, let us never loose our focus on the One who gives us eternal life and life in the fullest.
Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:68-69)
