By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might, for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory.
Sometimes plans go awry. Last night was one such example of chaos erupting unexpectedly. At the time, we handled it fairly well together and were able to process together. But it ended up being a late night, followed by the need for a full day of ministry. Wisdom would have had us pause this morning when we were tired and ready to become irritable. But we didn’t walk in wisdom. We didn’t strategise with God for the day. We did not seek His wisdom for our family’s day. If we had, we would have done things very differently and would have been built up as a family.
We were still able to build our family and marriage up, but by doing it in retrospect. We were able to come together in the afternoon, process what happened, and speak wisdom into future situations.
My action for today: Process together what went wrong in the morning – but only after having time apart to pray, process, and unwind. Bring wisdom into the situation and pray for the godly approach to similar days that lie ahead of us.
My prayer for today: Thank you, Father, that you do not hide wisdom from us. You have made wisdom available to us. You have given us intellect and your Spirit. Help us to seek you for our family, and seek your wisdom to bring life into our marriage, parenting, and ministry. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
