Respect dare series – day 30 – Honour

Proverbs 5:18-19

Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love.

Romans 12:10b

Outdo one another in showing honor.

As a new mother, I spend a lot of time reading articles about babies, child-rearing, pregnancy and so forth. Researching these topics, I have come across a multitude of articles about pregnancy and post-baby body image. I definitely wanted to stay healthy in pregnancy, eat the right foods and not gain too much weight, but I’m glad I can say that I never had to worry about whether Glenn still found me attractive. I can also say that I felt like I glowed in pregnancy and have never felt more beautiful than I have post-delivery. This has nothing to do with my looks, a flat stomach, or no stretch marks; it has everything to do with how Glenn has loved, praised and encouraged me.

My action for today: I want to publicly honour Glenn for his love and pursuit of me. He truly is a man after God’s heart and that includes how he loves me and his child.

My prayer for today: Thank you for a loving husband who treasures and honours me. Help me to always seek to outdo him in showing honour. Help us to foster a culture of honour in our home by modelling this before our children. Amen

Feeling radiant_Thanks Glenn!
