For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
God is our Healer, but we can help our spouse find healing for their broken places in a number of ways. The big one is, of course, prayer. We can also be a safe place to confide, the voice that reminds them of God’s work (moving our sins as far as the east is from the west), and their cheer leader. We can focus on their victories, and embolden them to find God’s mercy after a defeat.
None of us win every battle, but praise God that Christ has already won the war. We stand victorious in Him and we can remind our spouse of this.
My action for today: reminding Glenn of God’s abundant grace and the redemption we have found in Him. The old has passed away and the new has come.
My prayer for today: Loving Father, let me be a truth speaker over my husband, reminding him of your promises, Word, and his identity in you. Amen
