An ending

It seems like God is tying up some long-term projects for me at this time. Yesterday saw The Inductive Bible Study Companion; Unlock the Word published. I worked on this book for six years. It is strange to think that there is no further work to be done on it.

This project received my passion, love, excitement, and frustration. It has been utmost drudgery at times, but God kept me reminded of why I chose to tackle this task.

The book is based roughly on the method used in YWAM’s School of Biblical Studies (SBS). It was this school that unlocked the Word of God for me. Before it, I had struggled to read my Bible, let alone study it inductively. However, the 9 month SBS requires ALL your time – I probably spent up to 10/12 hours a day, 6 days a week, on the assignment work. This is unrealistic if you’re working. It’s unrealistic if you’re studying. It’s unrealistic for most people to take 9 months off for a Bible school. Yet the Bible is God’s very Word to us. It can’t be neglected. And so I set out to make what we did on the SBS accessible for all of God’s people.

Hence, the idea for The Inductive Bible Study Companion was born. The six subsequent years chipping away at it blessed me more than I can express. What a privilege and joy to be set a task by God for the growth of His people. What a gift to work on this Bible study tool. It has been my prayer that others will be blessed by this resource. It will continue to be my prayer.
